Central library was started in 1983. The main objective of central library is to provide seamless access to information to its users in a networked environment and to become a premier Learning Resource Centre in Engineering, Science & Technology and related areas. The library is fully automated with Sack Info 2.5 ERP library management system (LMS) with barcode technology. The library has rich collection of text book, reference books, handbooks on Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electronic Engineering, E & TC Engineering, Engineering Science, Electrical Engineering and MBA The total number of books available in library is 68057 volumes and 15155 titles as on 11/05/2023 and also library has subscribed 109 Print Journals,10 Magazine &270 E-Journals. The library has covering an area of 1222.00 square meters of main branch & 1368 suare meter with sub branches. It has well designed and maintained stack rooms. The library database is centrally computerized for accession and renewals with smart card for the students and bar codes for the books for easy, secure and quick operation. Student can search the books through Web-OPAC.

Keeping in view the importance of research in the academic sector, the library has provided access to various electronic journal databases. Those databases cater to the research needs of its patrons. The following databases are subscribed by the library:

Institutional Repository and Digital Library


The Central library has a separate place exclusively devoted for a digital library. It has in housed with 26 independent machines. A patron can surf the internet, listen and watch academic related audios & videos in a digital library.Apart from this, the users from the digital library can also browse the parent library through Library OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) and even subscribed electronic databases.The digital library is designed and developed keeping in view the shifting electronic environment and the day to day needs of students.
The institutional repository contains teachers hand written notes, MCQ, question bank, students lab manual for practical’s etc. It is arranged according to department wise, year wise (i.e. FE, SE, TE, BE). We can access the same using following link.

Library Web OPAC


The Library offers computerized Catalogue Search Services though the Web OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue). The bibliographic records consisting of more than 66735 books, handbooks, reference books are available in the Central Librarycan be searched through this interface. To access Web OPAC sufficient numbers of PCs are placed in the user’s area.

Library Rules and Regulations


Rules:

  • Registration should be done to become a library member prior to using the library resources.
  • Textbooks, printed materials and issued books are not allowed to be taken inside the library.
  • Using Cellular phones and audio instruments with or without speaker or headphone is strictly prohibited in the library premises.
  • Enter your name and Sign in the register kept at the entrance counter before entering library.
  • Show the books and other materials which are being taken out of the library to the staff at the entrance counter.
  • The librarian may recall any book from any member at any time and the member shall return the same immediately.
  • Library borrower cards are not transferable. The borrower is responsible for the books borrowed on his/her card.
  • Users should bring ID card compulsory.
  • No personal belongings allowed inside the library.
  • Refreshment of any kind shall not be taken anywhere in the library premises.
  • Silence to be maintained.
  • No discussion permitted inside the library

Circulation section:

  • Issue System

    Books will be issued on presentation of the library card. Students are instructed to check the books while borrowing and they will be responsible for any type of damage or mutilation noticed at the time of return.

  • Overdue Charges

    Books will be issued to the students for 15 days only. In the last page slip is pasted and stamped mentioning the due date and the fine will be charged @ Re.5 per day per book from the due date till the book is returned to library.

  • Book Lost

    If the books are lost, then the borrower shall replace the books of the same edition or latest edition or pay one and half cost of the book after getting permission from the librarian.

  • Care of library borrower cards

    Take special care to maintain the library borrower cards. Do not fold, alter entries made on the cards, members are responsible for the entire set of library borrower card issued to them.

  • Loss of Library

    Loss of borrower should be reported to the librarian in writing. After checking the borrowing register they will be issued a fresh replacement card on a payment of Rs.100/- per card.

  • Validity of cards

    Library borrower cards are valid for the respective academic year only and fresh cards will be issued for each year. At the end of the academic year borrower cards shall be returned to the library.

  • No due Certificate

    Each student shall obtain No dues certificate from the library after returning all the books issued, surrendering the borrower’s cards and after paying outstanding dues, if any.

  • Care of Library Books

    Students are require to handle the books/ Journal very carefully; marking with pencil , writing or highlighting , tearing the pages or mutilating the same in any other way will be viewed very seriously. In such case reader shall be held responsible unless these are brought to the notice of the library staff at the time of issue.

  • Book bank

    SC/ST students of college can become a member of the book bank giving application along with caste certificate. Members of the book bank will be issued 4 textbooks for each semester. Book shall be returned within two days after the theory examination, otherwise a fine of Rs.5/- per day will be charged.

Reference section:

This section has Encyclopaedia, dictionaries, Text books reference books etc. which are only available for reference. User can make use of these resources.

Periodical Section:

In these section journals, general magazines and news letter are available. They are arranged alphabetically. The latest issues are displayed on display rack and other previous issues are arranged in the drawer. Bound volumes of periodicals are arranged in rack alphabetically and are meat only for reference within the library. Student should not disturb place journal; it will cause legal action towards you.

Library Advisory Committee


The committee shall consist of the following members

  • A Senior Professor to be nominated by the principle as Chairman.
  • One Faculty representative/ Faculty-in-Charge of the Departmental Library.
  • Librarian – Member Secretary.

Library Advisory Committee Duties & Functions

  1. To consider policy matters regarding central library/departmental libraries including the policy for procurement of books and journals and render advice to the purchase committee for library procurements.
  2. To look into day to day problems of the library, library staff and send recommendations to the board for the desired decision.
  3. To supervise the allocation and utilization of funds for different departments for purchase of books and journals for the central and departmental libraries.
  4. To maintain liaison between central library and various academic departments for the purchase of networking of departmental libraries with the central library.
  5. To consider and put forward the views of faculty members regarding books/journals selection, ordering process etc.
  6. To consider and put forward the views of students and research scholars regarding their problems and solutions sought thereof.
