Established in 1983, under the leadership of Hon. Late Bhausaheb Thorat, the Institute has been providing a distinctive excellence driven engineering education that grooms the future generations of engineers and entrepreneurs. Currently the college offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses with annual intake of 960 and 78 respectively.College also provides PhD research center in Mechanical and Civil Engineering. The Institution has the coveted honour of accreditation in 2002 ,2007 and 2012 from NBA, an AICTE wing for quality assurance,New Delhi.Continuing the trend of quaIity education,the institute has re-accredited by NBA for the forth time to all eligible disciplines by maintaining their quality education and research in 2023.

Our History

The institute has Educational Organization Management System(EOMS)in accordance with ISO 21001:2018. The institute has been Accredited with CGPA of 3.4 on seven point scale at A+ Grade valid for a period of 5 years from 22/11/2021. The college has progressed in leaps and bounds and is continuously improving in all aspects of curricular and extracurricular activities.

Late Sahakar Maharshi Shri. Bhausaheb Santuji Thorat

He is a distinguished Freedom Fighter and devout Gandhian from Maharashtra's Ahmednagar District, ardently responded to Mahatma Gandhi's 'Quit India' movement in 1942. Sacrificing his education, he actively participated in the Freedom Struggle, enduring a 15-month imprisonment in Nashik Central Jail. Following Independence, Shri. Thorat dedicated his life to social service, contributing significantly to the nation's development.

Choosing Social Service as his life's purpose, Shri. Thorat dedicated over half a century to uplift and comprehensively develop the lives of the downtrodden, peasantry, landless laborers, and workers. His impactful service made a lasting impact in areas such as cooperatives, education, environment, agriculture, banking, irrigation, and rural development. Shri. Thorat's commitment to societal transformation extended well beyond India's struggle for independence, contributing significantly to the nation's progress and the welfare of its people.

Hon.Balasaheb Bhausaheb Thorat is a very popular leader associated with the Indian National Congress Party. He was born on 7th of February 1953 in Jorve, Sangamner, Dist. Ahmednagar, Maharashtra State., India. He completed his education from Sir D.M. Petit Highschool, Sangamner College, Sangamner and Furguson College, Pune. His initial career started as Farmer and Lawyer. He also became a leading face of co-operative movement of Maharashtra. He is the founder of milk co-operative and former president of Sangamner district and state co-operative Bank and also was Chairman of Sangamner Sugar Factory.
He has been elected as MLA from Sangamner constitutency Eight times since 1985. He has served as Minister for 17.5 years for Maharashtra, in Governments of Hon.Shri.Ashokrao Chavan, Hon.Shri. Vilasrao Deshmukh, Hon. Shri. Prithviraj Chavan and in the Govt. of Mahavikas Aghadi
