      The Information Technology department was started in 2001 currently it is running with intake of  60 in the academic year 2008-2009 . The department is accredited  National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi .The department has introduced with ME (Information Technolgy) in the year 2012 with the intake of 24 .The department has highly qualified staff. It has state-of-the-art laboratories with latest software. Students are trained in computer programming for engineering applications to meet the IT Industry challenges. The department is an authorized center for conducting RedHat certification training program by redhat Academy Partner. Department has Virtual classroom facilities & sign MOU  with  CQA(A), Ministry of defence.

        The department has Student association SITES (Society of Information Technology Engineering Students) under that department arranges various expert lectures, educational visits, programming contest for student’s to increase Co-Curricular and extra-curricular activities. 

        Department also runs IEI student chapter under The Institution of Engineers(India),Kolkata. The department also has ‘Departmental Library’ for the departmental students having reference as well as text books. The library also contains different reference project as well as seminar reports.The department is also providing LCD and projector facility for the effective teaching.

        The overall goal of the department is to make brilliant and dynamic students to meet the industry challenges.
